JAIS has much to Answer

If a former Mufti is deemed fit to be advisor to the Sultan on Islamic affairs, has a PhD in Islamic Studies, and people can relate to his lectures (I am a Christian, and even I like him!), who the heck is JAIS to arrest this guy?
 
I can understand JAIS' need to establish uniformity in mosque sermons and all, but this is ridiculous! In Christian terms, its like stopping a Singaporean bishop from talking in KL.Dr Asri has been at the forefront of clarifying a lot of things we non Muslims don't understand about Muslims, and he is one of the few people I know of that is trying hard to foster religious understanding rather than hatred and animosity. This should be emulated, propagated and encouraged!
